Alongside my work as a director of Hotel Mitland in Utrecht, the Netherlands, I was an active marathon and ultramarathon runner for forty years. I ran marathons and ultramarathons all over the world, from the Sahara and Atacama Desert to the North Pole and Antarctica.

In 2016, I completed (ultra)marathons on all seven continents and at the North Pole, earning membership of the 7 Continents Club and the Marathon Grand Slam Club.

I combined my passion for sport and travel with another lifelong passion: photography. On this website, you will find my running, sports and travel photography, capturing remarkable marathons, landscapes and destinations around the world.
